If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My wifes Genesis needs new tires. The Pirellis gave her only 20K and they are warrantied for 45K so Discount Tires will pick up half the cost on a new set of 4 any tire.

Any owners out there have tires they love? PLEAAAASE let me know.

Thanks:(

Hello,

I would recommend the Continental Extreme Contact DWS 235/50ZR18 97W.

Tires are subjective and a lot of people feel differently about each brand etc. They are ranked #1 in Ultra High Performance All Season (in our tire size) with over 15 million miles logged by people who own them. They have a 6 Year / 50,000 mile warranty.

Hope this helps some :)....a set of 4 on www.tirerack.com currently runs $728, they might be found cheaper elsewhere...just using them as a reference. I have been very satisfied with their overall performance and will definitely purchase another set when these wear out or I purchase another Genny.

Thanks. We have the DWS on our Miata and they are a solid performer but a little low profile. I think that she wants strong performance with ride comfort.

;)We will use Discount Tires to get the warranty on the Pirellis. Does Goodyear make a tire that will fit the Genesis? Either that or a Michelin I think at this point.

The Pirelli's are not 235/50? that's the stock tire for our vehicle and ride comfort on the DWS's are quite nice in this size. Ride comfort comes in at an 8.8/10 as reported by over 2350 users. Yes...both Goodyear and Michelin make tires to fit our vehicle, but neither are rated as good overall in all categories. The Michelin's are closest and rank #5 vs. #2 in this category.

Goodyear: Goodyear Eagle GT (W-Speed Rated), Ride Comfort 7.2/10

Michelin: Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus, Ride Comfort 8.7/10

Thanks very much for that information.

I would be tempted to go with Goodyear so I appreciate knowing the ride quality suffers a bit. What tire is that? I have not seen one on the Discount Tire site as of yet.

As she is going to get a rebate for half the cost of the new tire It might be a good time to put on the Michelin Pilots (about $235.00 each at Discount).

We have little slick weather here in San Diego so the DWS might not be needed but the DW might be another choice. She drives her car like she just robbed a bank, so the Conti's are attractive.

I really do like my Conti's so I fall into that subjective category lol :).....but the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus would be another solid choice it appears. I'm not sure if Discount Tire has these in stock or would have to order them for you.

I also saw this information on the Michelin's....must be purchased by 6/23/2012.

Get a $70 MasterCard® Prepaid Card

When you buy any set of four (4) new MICHELIN® brand passenger or light truck tires you may be eligible to receive a $70 MasterCard® Prepaid Card by mail-in rebate. I have the DW's and really like them so far. Tons of grip in the wet and dry, and very quiet and offer a great ride. Bout $1050 installed 245 45 19 on the R Spec wheels.

Thanks. Really appreciate your input...

I live in the Chicago area and am very happy with my Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires. Compared to the OEM Dunlops (which are terrible tires and which rank dead last or next to last in almost every category on TireRack) the Contis are dramatically better, providing much better traction in the Chicago snow and a much smoother ride on Chicago's rough roads. These may not be the best choice in sunny San Diego, but they are a great choice in the snowy north.

Just put another set of Bridgestone Turanza Serenity tires on my 4.6. Had 42000 miles on the old set of Serenity tires, but for safety I replaced before they were totally gone. New set is the turanza serenity plus. Very smooth and quiet tire.

I went to Discount Tires today. They can have the Turanza Serenity Plus in about a week. $218. per tire. Most likely can get out the door pricing around $500.00 with the warranty on the Pirellis. Although I like the Conti DWS and have them on my Miata, the Turanza sounds like the tire to beat. Tweach his own. Will post a pic when Baby gets the new shoes.

;)Thanks for your insight and helpful posts.
