  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just got my GV70 Advanced 2.5--traded in my 2017 Outback. Loving it so far. I am a car novice but wanted something a bit more luxurious and the reviews were obviously really good. My question is as to whether there is a consensus on the tires--is getting new tires highly recommended or are the default (OEM?) tires good enough? I'm willing to spend money but also don't want to if the result is incremental or the OEM tires are already considered above average I don't need anything crazy, just looking for tires that can handle most conditions/seasons (I live in Colorado). I don't necessarily need tires for increased speed or the like but maybe tires that give the smoothest ride with best handling (particularly with snow). If people do recommend changing tires, is there a particular tire that is recommended?

go to tirerack.com and search for reviews on the tires that on on your vehicle and go from there.

I used the stock Michelin's here in Colorado throughout the whole winter and ventured into the mountains almost every week; although I avoided driving in any of the real bad storms. For increased performance (grip, feel, etc.) I would look into the Continental DWS06 Plus tires. For the best snow performance without going to full winter tires, I would seriously look at the Michelin CrossClimate 2.
