  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm almost ready to purchase a set 0f 20" TSW Mirabeau wheels for the R Spec. Just waiting a while longer to see if we can get the oil burning issue resolved!

I know a staggered look is killer but what are the negatives besides the obvious rotation problems?
Your input is greatly appreciated.

it will change the driving dynamic a little having a wider tire in the rear. In the front I suggest running a lower offset in the front to keep the wheels even with the fenders. These cars dont have wider rear fenders so personally I'd prefer a squared setup.

IE) 8.5 +20 with 10+40 is pretty darn close.

I just love the look of a big wide wheel/tire in the back of a RWD car.

I like the staggered look.

Remember, swapping rims/tires will best be served by changing other components. There is virtually nothing you can change that doesn't affect other parts as well.

I've modified so many "toys" over the years and every time it's cost me way more than just the initial mod. Your Genny will be the same way.

I swear we need to change your username to "Chicken Little".

The stagger look is sick! This should be a no brainer if your objective is to get that aggressive mean get out of my way look.

Can't wait to see pics. Those are on my short list.

Staggered tires cut any mileage warranty by half.

The biggest worry you should have is the possible effect on the traction control. A normal stagger will leave the rears turning at a lower RPM than the fronts. Some of the Genesis coupe guys reported issues when they changed from the base sizes on the GC to the staggered sizes the R-spec used.

Huh? If he does it correctly they should both have the same circumference (or very close to the same).

Why? Because I know what I'm talking about and that disturbs you?

Don't shoot the messenger.

So "expert" changing wheels/tires AND maintaining the same aspect ratio requires changing out what other components?

Personally I would reduce the wheel gap by going with a subtle drop but that is really just an illusion.

Look, I'm not harassing you. Just go get yourself and life and leave me alone or I will report you for trolling, ok? Now git..................

Not harassing either. Trolling? Seriously?

Just curious why you post opinions but don't care to provide an explanation.

Guys - I ran stagger for many months on my R-spec with no ill effects. So long as the overall rotations per mile stay in check (within a couple of a percent) you're fine.

Bottom line. Stagger = proper look on RWD.

Now, *puts on MOD hat* learn to play nice kids, or the vacations start.

Thank everyone for your responses.
I am hoping I won't have to lower the car because I like the ride the way it is. I know going to a +1 set up is going to already have an effect.
The rear fenders should be ok but I am worried about too much gap in the front.

But as I said...before I do anything they have to get this oil issue worked out

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Staggering (both in width and in running lower offsets in the rear) will facilitate understeer, but I doubt that would matter to any of the users on here.

Any wheel setup which differs from the OEM parameters should be accommodated by some form of suspension tuning / tweaking. Camber and toe play alot into how the chassis rotates through a corner.
