  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am on the fence about going tint on my satin pearl white sedan and looking for pictures of Satin Pearl White Genny's with any amount of tint. My wifey thinks I should tint but I'm kinda leaning towards keeping her with no tint. Can someone posts pictures of White Satin Pearl with tint..........

Different tint film materials will look different on your car, depending on the type and hue of the film, and how dark the film is.

First you need to decide why you want tint. Is it to keep the heat outside of you car, or is it purely aesthetic? This will have a big impact on the type of tint film you choose. Tint film strictly for aesthetics tends be smoke or charcoal films with a neutral/grey hue. High tech films designed to keep heat out (such as nano-ceramic films) tend to have a slight hue (blue, green, etc) depending on the brand.

Also, there are state tint laws that may affect your choice. States like CA and NY have very strict tint laws that require a very light tint film (high VLT) at least on the driver and front passenger windows.

There are plenty of posts and pics already posted on this forum about tint films.

The film I will be using is 3m I'm just trying to get an idea of tint on a white genesis. A picture will never show the hue correctly anyways, that's not my concern. As far as tint laws I've always had dark tint in all my cars without any problems. I did a search but there was more topics on film mores so than pictures............Thanks for the reply Mark

I did find one picture of a white Genny with tint which kinda gave me an idea. I'm not sure I like the look but on my white 2012 sonata I like it because it matches with the panoramic roof.

That is a brand name, not a type of film. 3M (like other tint film companies) makes a wide range of tint films that are completely different (not just a wide range of light/dark shades).

In the mid of the summer heat.
Why waiting?
Tiniting your ride is one of the best cheap mods if not thee best mod anyone can do to his/her ride, right off the bat.
It's not just functional but also improves its sporty look and some (gain hefty hp, gas mileage ), IMO.
Visit one of the reputable window tinting detailers in your local, have him do a demo on different type of films in his shop and prepare to pay.
Here is some tidbit

Yes to tint. Car is boring without. I've tinted every car I've owned. 20% all around (obviously not windshield).

I say - tint it...light tint will look awesome!

My car isn't white as yours but it is pretty light color and I went with SunTek - Carbon - Non-Metal, Non-Fading, Carbon Construction 35% all around, except front windshield, of course (illegal in IL) ....this is my first car tinted and I absolutely love it!

bunch of pictures from different angles, so you can get an idea.

llumar makes a ceramic tint that is pretty much clear. u can put on front windshield. cant tell its there. its called air blue 80. if you dont want a charcoal shade at all but want the UV protection. i would go with the air blue 80 all around. with the ceramic films, it blocks UV rays and all that good stuff.

Airblue 80 is great, but don't use it on a windshield if you prefer to wear Polarized sunglasses.

Are you still looking for pics of a White Satin Pearl with tinting? I have a 2013 R-Spec in White Satin Pearl that's tinted with a ceramic based film. If you still want to see pics just let me know by a reply and I'll try to accommodate you.
