Hello. I have a 2009 Genesis 4.6, with about 107k miles on it. I was driving the vehicle this morning while running errands and made one stop. I turned the car off to go inside, and when I came back out to leave, I tried starting the car and the vehicle lost all electrical power. Before losing power, there was a brief flash on the dash and the nav system screen, the drivers side seat slid forward, and then all power was lost. I tried to restart the car, but nothing happened.
I took the battery out and took it to 2 different auto parts stores to have it tested. The battery was tested a total of 3 times, and all 3 times the battery tested good. The battery was an Interstate brand battery, and the sticker on the battery said it was manufactured in Feb 2018. I reinstalled the battery, making sure that the positive and ground connections were secure. I checked the 50 amp and 10 amp fuses on the positive battery terminal, and they were not blown. I checked fuses in the engine compartment and as well as the fuses on the drivers side interior compartment, but no fuses had blown. I checked the ground terminals in the engine compartment, and they were secure as well.
I then tried to jump start the car, but my attempts were unsuccessful. When the jumper cables were connected, the nav system, radio, and dash lights would come on, the locks and the trunk release on the drivers side door would work, but the car would not start. When I disconnected the jumper cables, I was right back at square one, with total loss of power.
Has anyone ever experienced this before? If so, what was done to correct this? I
Thanks.
