  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello,
I own a 2013 Genesis sedan with 84,000 miles. The buttons on my touch screen do not function. The display is fine.

I cannot access my GPS because I cannot hit "I Agree" when the GPS initializes.
No phone function buttons work
I cannot edit functions
Set radio stations... etc.

I did a reset, which only removed my preset channels. I'm out of warranty. Can I just replace the screen or do I need a new radio $$$$

In most cases replacing the screen will fix the problem.
It is toshiba touch screen in your car. Model of the screen:
LT070AB99100.
I know it because I have replaced this screen with android tablet in my car.

OH WOW! I would have never known. Is there not a more HIGHER QUALITY BRAND than Toshiba?

Not sure if anyone has seen a screen blur and stay dim. I lose some of the black colors. I confirmed the Toshiba LT070AB99100 screen and digitizer are the ones installed. I'm not sure if swapping the screen will solve my issue, as the video driver may not be working. Also, the backup camera doesn't show the video, and only the digital lines show with some faint video.

Did you replace the screen yourself? My car stereo on my 2012 Genesis Sedan started acting up a couple months ago. My station buttons aren't working and I can only change stations by scanning up or down. Do you think replacing the screen will fix the problems?

Hi, folks, we just bought a 2012 Genesis 3.8 Premium. The touch screen has a mind of its own.

Sometimes, the "Genesis" logo appears at startup and never disappears. Other times, it boots past the logo, then on the language selection/Accept screen, the four buttons on the bottom are greyed out. So I can't "Accept" and move on from there.

This means I can't get to the car's settings, Nav or anything else - the hard buttons along the sides of the screen are also haphazard - pressing "settings" gets me into the radio, pressing "Phone" tries to connect to my daughter's iPhone via BT.

To date, I have tried two suggestions seen here or elsewhere online:

1) Disconnected the battery for 15 mins then reconnected. No change.

2) Removed the fuses for the RF Receiver and Audio B+, while the car is powered on in Accessory mode.

3) Held the power/volume button for 10 seconds.

Supposedly there is a tiny "Reset" button somewhere that you press with a paper clip - I have no idea where it is.

So, this is clearly an issue with the touchscreen, but there's a software component as well. I don't think the screen itself is not responding to touches, since on the few screens I can access, there is some response, some of the time,

Car is out of warranty, and I'm reading that this could be a touch-screen replacement job (a few hundred $) and older posts imply it could be in the thousands.

Help! And Thanks.
