  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well I took the step. I have been unhappy with the technology in my 2022 GV70–base trim. And so little legroom in the backseat that adults were cramped there.
My Palisade Calligraphy has loads of room—including a third seat that I don’t need. It has every bit as much technology as I could get in a GV80, and cost $20,000 less than that car would. Even paying a dealer markup I got the Palisade for 55.
My local Hyundai dealer, where I bought the car, as much better service than the Genesis dealership that is 25 miles from me.
Not as pretty as a GV, but I love my Palisade.

Sounds like you should have purchased a Palisade in the first place...I LOVE my GV70.

Palisades are nice. I like the grill a lot better on the recent refresh.

Many, including: HUD, AC seats rows 1 & 2. Heated seats rows 2&3, dimming side mirrors, 2sunroofs, massaging driver seat, 2nd row captain’s chairs, overhead camera view, parking distance warning in front (the base GV70 didn’t even have this!), loads of power outlets including a 120-volt outlet. Better audio. And a few more.
I can’t imagine what the fully equipped GV80 would have that this doesn’t.

Well it sounds like the right move for you. I for one am also impressed with both the Palisade and Kia Telluride... and the 2023 refresh added a few nice things including the massaging seat.... Did they give you a good trade in value? Do you feel the Palisade is as solidly built as the GV70?

A fully loaded GV80 would have 3.5 TT, Napa leather seating, Valure head liner, Power rear seats, Power rear sunshades, soft close doors, and all the other items you listed. Only 2 row seating though. There is a three-row option (or was) available, but it was not as loaded, and the third row was not really that functional.

If not getting the GV80, the Palisade is a good choice. They are nice vehicles and actually larger than the GV80.

Isn't the GV80 closer in size to the Hyundai Santa Fe ?

The GV80 is 84 cu ft behind the front seats and the Palisade is 86 so pretty close. GV has adaptive suspension and a far better stereo.

I'm really enjoying my GV70 and I don't really want to get rid of it but with a growing family I just need more space. I test drove the Calligraphy and liked it. So I think I'll me making the same step soon. The only thing that has me considering waiting a month is the new Honda Pilot. But I've been spoiled by the technology and ride comfort of the GV70 so I think the Palisade might be the better choice.

One nice thing about moving to the Palisade is that the technology works the same. The technology guy at the dealership didn’t have to waste much time with me.

I noticed this on the test drive. Everything works the same as on the GV70 plus you get the cool rearview mirror, HUD, and the ventilated & heated rear seats are a welcome feature. The one thing that has me waiting on the Honda Pilot is the removable middle seat from the second row.

How much did you get for your gv70

Curious if anyone who wants a bigger SUV has thought of going with any of the luxury brands? BMW X7, Audi Q7, Mercedes GLS?

Thought about it. But too expensive. Especially when you start adding their ridiculous packages for basic things like ventilated seats or upgraded audio.
