  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Sorry to say, but I'm leaving the Hyundai family and joining the Ford family.

I traded in my 2009 Genesis 4.6 Tech Package for a 2015 Ford Explorer Sport. I know these are two completely different vehicles, but I've never been so pleased with a vehicle as I have been with this new Ford.

I loved my Genesis, don't get me wrong. But this new SUV is just simply amazing. The power is ALWAYS there, no lag. The ride is smooth, you barely feel the bumps. The steering wheel doesn't pull with the road. It is quiet. The wheels won't peel. Winters will be a non-issue. My overall impressions of this new Ford is just ridiculous.

I do have to say that I haven't test drove the 2015 Genesis, but I would hope that a lot of these issues were resolved in the new cars.

Maybe some year I'll switch back... But for now... CYA!

Congrats on your new SUV. Just curious about what other competing SUV's you looked at? What about something like a Acura MDX?

Congrats on the Explorer. I've always liked Fords. I traded my 2012 V6 Genesis on a 3.8 Ultimate a few days ago and I am happy as well. Hyundai fixed the lag problem on the 2015s.

How are the Exploerer electronics? Can you state a an addrss in one sentence using voice NAV?

Best of luck to you.

What engine did you get in the Explorer??

The DW's is 11 years old and has 120,000 miles on it (plus another 40,000 mile of being towed behind a motorhome). Will need to replace it one of these days.

Did you look at a Hyundai Santa Fe?? One of my sons just bought one and it seems very nice.

Looked at them all in this 45-50K range. MDX is big, ugly, and slow.

The Sports only have the turbo. 365HP. It rips!

Santa Fe is really nice... Just not as nice and fast as the Explorer Sport.

^^ +1. I am waiting for the body refresh coming out. Then will be getting a Sport to replace the Expedition. The current edition is very good. How good a deal did you get? If good enough, might not wait..

I am Ford fan too. So many folks are fixated on foreign brands. Do not give them a chance. Car magazines with their biases give out false reports. And have on the Explorer. I really like it too.

The Genny is a better car for me than the SHO I tested. At least back when I got the 2012 5.0.

Have fun. Depending on which options, you may have gum shoes. They do not last long I heard.

Anyway, please let me know the deal.. Thanks!!

My wife just purchased a 2014 Toyota highlander and really likes it. My brother's fiancé on the other hand is about to pick up a used 2013 or newer ford explorer because she loves suv's. I'm gonna try and help them find what they're looking for, and I think it'll be pretty easy seeing that on car gurus have a lot of pickings on there site for the Florida and Georgia areas.

Not sure how good of a deal I got, but it was under MSRP. MSRP was a little over $51K. I paid a little over $47K for it. It has every single option you can get on the Sport model. The finance guy at the dealership said he has the 2015 Sport as well... He said he paid $2400 less than I do as an employee. He thinks I got a pretty good deal.

The Genny AWD is just way to expensive. They won't budge on their price. Plus, I like how large the SUV is and how high it sits up. I'm a pretty big fan of the Explorer.

Wait.. $51k. For an *Explorer*? Yikes.
