  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Traffic alert or obstacle alert sounds like a safety nanny

Genesis Model Type
2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
I have a 2015 Genesis 3.8 that is a wonderful ride, but, ("Everybodys got a big butt"... Pee-Wee) The alert tone sounds off whenever I am even near another car, or wall or whatever. It will stop if I put it in neutral or the obstruction is like 30 feet away.
Did not be this sensitive when I first bought the car,
Dang thing stays on when tripped while waiting for a light to change sitting behind a car.
Anybody else experience this. Fix if accomplished?
Thanks in advance

At 30 feet you should not have an alter. Possible a bad sensor. Watch for what side is going off.
As for cars near you, some have sensors that will set your off. Take a look at the other bumper for the sensors. Ford mostly, but many others.

When I stop behind another car, I can see the tires of the car in front. Gives enough space not to set off mine, and safer to in case I'm rear ended.

Thanks Ed,
it stays on whenever Im near another car, and cross traffic goes by.
Would disconnecting the battery reset help?

No idea, but it would not hurt. Chaeper than a dealer diagnostic charge.
