Transmission question

First post hope I am following all the rules. What are the odds of transmission being replaced and having a bad transmission control module defective at the same time. My transmission stopped shifting, they replaced the x mission for 4 grand then it still didn’t work so they replaced the TCM. They didn’t charge me for the TCM. The more I think about it the more I think that might have been all that was wrong to begin with. Any thoughts?

Its very possible that the TCM was the whole problem. Both transmission and TCM being bad at the same time is pretty unlikely. Not saying that its impossible, just unlikely.

Ive had to replace the ECM in my car, and my friend has had his TCM go out on his 2015 due to an error installing subwoofers, somehow. So the modules in these cars definitely arent the most bulletproof things lol
