Hey there,
So the other night I gave my car a proper thrashing and kept it in tiptronic mode the entire time. After about an hour of (very rough) driving and merging on to the highway, my car was stuck in 6th gear. My buddy, who was in the car with me suggested that it was "limp mode" and that can happen if the transmission is overheated. Anyway, I stopped on the side and turned the car off for about 30 seconds, then it was back to norm...but did not drive it hard after that. It has been 3 days since the incident, everything seems to be normal but obviously I am still concerned. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I be worried? Will I need a new tranny??! I love my car and want to keep it for a while and any advice would help.
