Trunk and Gas Cap not opening with buttons inside the car

Hi All,
I went to the gas station today and my fuel cover would not pop open. Tried the trunk button on my dash to do the manual release and the trunk did not pop open. I could open the trunk using the manual button on the outside of the car and was then able to use the manual release for the gas cover. I had a hyundai remote starter installed on Wednesday. Any thoughts from anyone as to what the problem might be as to why my buttons in the car don't work now?
 
Lots of different possibilities. Was the installation incorrect? Was the wiring harness damaged? Battery drain? Short?

I'd take the car back and have it looked at.
