  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Took a few times but find I’m accidentally bumping the switch’s on the left side of the lower dash with my knee and opening either the trunk and or the fuel filler door, anyone else experience this irritation?
Will look at the new G80/G70 to see if they’ve repositioned the switch’s next time I’m in for service.

I have not. I'm 6'3" for reference. I have to duck my head a bit but have never had an issue hitting my knee against those buttons.

Hope the future finds a remedy.

I don't think the switches have been repositioned, but I know with my 2018 G80 there is a press and hold required, 3 seconds either, mine do not open with a press, they require a press and hold.

I'm 6'8". I have to ask how your knee reaches the buttons?

Now I'm confused because I can't hit the buttons no matter how I adjust the seat.

Seems to be my right knee on entering ....don’t actually feeling it hitting but car is buttoned up tight on entering and once seated looking in the mirror and see sometimes the truck is open or the fuel ⛽ door is.
Doesn’t happen all the time but is still irritating.
and I’m only 5’10 lol

It might actually only be possible to hit the buttons because you're shorter. I can't get into the car in any manner that would let my knee get near the switches haha. I basically sit into the car and pull my legs in.

I'm the same height. With two cars and same buttons I've probably entered them 2500+ times. Has to be the way you enter. While comfortable for you, it is not the way most of us get in. I just sit and turn in with legs following and they don't hit the dash.

Try watching how you enter and see if you can make a minor change of habit.

I am aware of the problem folks have with butt dialing with the fob in your pocket.have read where a fob cover will eliviate that to some extent. (Hopefully)

actually I have that issue, when the fob is in my pocket and I sit in the car I either open the trunk or trigger the panic. I have to remove it before entering, I typically toss it in the cup holder, and have actually been trying to sort out a way to mount it like this:
