  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Trunk Cover Issue

Hi All,
Today someone opened my cars trunk for inspection. unfortunately he closed the trunk with his hands ..
after that i noticed a small gap between the trunk cover and car..
i tried to adjust the trunk cover level by adjusting the 2 rubber pieces in the trunk but it's not working .. no matter how the level is , gap still appear.
so is there any thing i can do to remove that gap ?
my genesis look ugly now .. :(

How else can you close the trunk if not with both hands?
Go see a decent body shop to reset/realign
Your trunk lid...

Take it back to the dealer. It's under warrantee.

open/close automatically without using hands.
Can you tell us what country you live in (or where you bought the car)?

Your car has a feature that we don't have in the U.S., our trunk doesn't open/close automatically. It should be an item covered under warranty for the first 5yr/60k or 3yr/36k like the rest of the electronics in the vehicle.

Ahaa ...

Thank you for replying and explaining that, i thought all trunks are the same.

Each selling country or Hyundai importer has their own warranty terms. Even the Hyundai Canada warranty is different than the HMA warranty in the US. The Hyundai US warranty is typically the longest, due to competitive issues and Hyundai trying to overcome the very poor perception of Hyundai stemming back to the their initial introduction in the US in the late 1980's.

I found this concerning Hyundai UAE (United Arab Emirates) Warranty:

New Vehicle Warranty
  • Any component, except the items specified hereafter, of your New Hyundai vehicle is covered for 36 months from the date of original retail delivery of date of first use, or 60,000 km, whichever comes first.
  • Basic Coverage -36 months/60,000 km (Exclude normal wear and maintenance items and specific exceptions)
  • Power Train Coverage -36 months/60,000 km (Engine, Transmission/Transaxle)
  • Battery - 24 months/40,000 km (Original equipement [sic], charge/replacement)
  • Air Conditioner Regrigerant [sic] Charge - 12 months
  • Paint - 36 months/60,000 km (Paint defects or corrosion other than perforation, such as cosmetic or surface corronsion [sic] due to defects in paint material or workmanship)
  • Audio - 36 months/60,000 km

As I am sure everyone knows, 60,000 km = 36,000 miles.
