  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

not sure where I read this but someone else was having issues with the trunk being unlached. Ive noticed this myself. Ive come out several times to see that my trunk is unlached. I know that my fob is sitting on my desk and not touched. Very strange.

is that only on the 2012? i've never had it happen once in my 2009.

Never happened on my 2009 Genesis. I just walk out and its opened. Very strange.

If you think the car is acting out now; wait until the winter when the PNW gloom settles in for months at a time. Might have to add meds or a regular diet of microbrew to the tank for the poor thing to get through. :)

Haha. Microbrew always helps.

I lived in Portland for 5 years. I know about the gloom and the microbrews.

Not trying to be a smart ass but are you sure it's latching when you close it? Mine requires a healthy push to get it to latch. Now I know to watch for the turn signal flash to confirm.

Yes. My trunk needs a good slamming too... PLEASE DONT COMMENT ON THAT ONE !!!!!:D:D

Ive been making it a point to track my every move just to make sure that Im not getting senile. The jury is still out on that one :). I will keep at it.

It's happened to me on quite a few occasions, I'm not sure what was causing it. I don't usually keep my fob in my pocket while at home, so I didn't *think* that was the issue.

Hasn't happened in a few months, though.

I had an issue where the post (the rectangular object that the latch grabs onto) became loose over time. At first I didn't realize it was occuring, but I did notice considerably more force (again, over time) to get the trunk to latch. I pulled the plastic trim off to access the bolts (star drive by the by)...once I tightened them up the lid only required a 'feather touch' to latch.

Check it out...
