  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi
I just bought a 2015 genesis 3.8 ultimate. I have noticed that the trunk on the right side is off a bit. The automatic trunk closes and nothing leaks but you can see that there is a slightly bigger gap and raised on this side. If you run your finger from the fender to the top of the trunk there is a height difference whereas the left side matches up with the fender smooth. I can push down on the top to align it back up but it just goes back to where it was. Is there a way to fix the alignment by adjusting something?
Thanks

It's very difficult to adjust trunk alignment- it generally relies on mechanical action on the seals to get lined up when the lock actuates. If yours is more than slightly off (like it might be leaving the factory) there's a pretty good chance the car was involved in an accident or someone attempted to force the lid closed over something too big.

You can attempt taking the trunk liner off and verifying the trunklid arms are properly tightened to the lid, or check the hinge and drive mechanism to make sure it's not loose. (I don't remember if the brackets are welded or bolted in)
