  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone located and replaced the trunk lift support for the 2009-2012 Genesis Sedan? Looks from the parts diagram that there is only one and it is on the left-hand side, but I cannot seem to locate any info on how to get to it to replace it.

You have to take the trunk mat and “floor” out so you can see the spare tire. Then you have to pull the molded carpet side walls of the trunk away from the car towards the middle of the trunk. They are secured by a little push retainer right behind the tail light. Pop them out and pull it away. You can access them there to replace.

if you would not mind could you post pictures of the location after you removed the carpeting.

Yeah i can take pictures of the retainers and bolts you have to take off to pull the sidewall away to access the trunk supports. To be continued...
