  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys, first time posting for me.
I just picked up an 09 v6 tech package and I really love the car, it was a dealer demo and I got a great deal on it but I have found something a little strange!

If I look in the trunk near the top where the speakers are mounted there is no liner and I can see all the speakers and sheet metal, it appears that the trunk liner is missing? I asked the dealer and she said the v8 came with that and the v6 didn't?
can anyone confirm this? it doesn't look right in my opinion, it appears as if someone has removed it.

I got my 2010 3.8 about 3 weeks ago and it is not missing any pieces of trunk lining

yes the lining is missing on most V6 models, mine was missing, here' what you have to do

1. Contact Hyundai customer support and setup a case number
2. Go to your nearest dealership and have them order the liner and install it. Make sure to keep the receipt because you will need to send a copy of this to Hyundai along with a copy of your registration and license

The process takes a bit of time but they do reimburse you for everything. Good Luck

thanks for the advice, but Im located in Canada and from what I have read they are not as co-operative...
I think I will give it a shot.

No don't say that!

My dealership in Langley, B.C. contacted Hyundai about the missing liner and did everything free of charge! They were only too eager to please!

Mine too.
Supplied & Installed at no charge.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
How some of the Genesis came out of the factory line with a missing interior piece is beyond me.
I read somewhere that only those with over 15 years of experience qualify as a Genesis factory assembly line personnel.

Was it supposed to be that way and later they changed the plan? IDK...

Dan

If I recall correctly, some of the media and early owners were upset that the trunk wasn't completely finished. Hyundai stepped up and started putting them into the newer build cars. For those of us who complained, Hyundai retrofitted our cars with the liners.

just contacted Hyundai Canada and they basically said go jump in the lake.

They told me to contact my local dealer and have them contact the customer service area manager and see about having it looked at. Has anyone in the local toronto area dealt with this issue?
If so can you pass on the dealership or manager that you worked with...

It was a cost-savings measure on the V6 only, then a late running change to include it.

Ah, I see. That makes sense.
But come on, how much are you going to save by taking off a trunk liner?

Just picked up my V6 Premium yesterday. First thing I checked based on post read here in the forum. Trunk liner was there. 2nd thing I checked was Ipod cable. It was in the package with the manual. 3rd thing I checked for was a baggae/grocery net...found it in a bag and net in far corner of the trunk.

So far so good except they put dealer vanity plate holders on, and on the rear one they cross-threaded one of the screw-bolts so when I removed the dealer plate holder and re-attached the plate only one side isn't tight.

Mine is like this as well. I can get it just tight enough but if I keep going it will start from the beginning. You might be able to find some product to put in there to hold it better. I didn't have to do that.

To Genesedan in Toronto:
Congrats, but your dealer should have thrown in front & rear mats (rubber) and a colour pen....eh?

Hmmmm...never thought about asking for the pen. :D On the other hand, and on a serious note, they threw in the rear badge and install for free, and delivered the car to my door. Gave me an inspection and 'walk through' on the spot, sat with me to select the best XM stations for my taste, and called me that evening to ask how I was enjoying the car.

Last car was an Infiniti G35 (and 2 Maximas prior), and never once did I get a call from the Infiniti/Nissan dealer (same one for all 3)...one of the key factors in my brand loyalty switch.

But yet I get a top notch buyer experience and a follow up call within hours from Hyundai.

They 'get it'.
