  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So last week my trunk opened on its own while driving. Luckily I was near a place that I could pull off and close it. Well a week later, driving past the exact same area, it opens again! I'm sure there is a safety feature that prevents the trunk from opening while in drive, but near the same location??? I know it's an odd coincidence but it shouldn't be happening at all. Anyone have any ideas?

I'd drive by again. It would be good to find the exact spot and see what is there. Yes, it should not happen, but perhaps something is putting out a strong electronic signal, enough to override the safety features of the car.

Over the years, I've heard of strange things from radio broadcast towers, ham radio operators and such.

How fast were you going? I always guessed that above 5 mph you would get locked out of opening it...
