  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This actually freaks me out....

I just got my 2015 Genesis Coupe 3.8L V6 (Automatic) and had a similar issue. I was stuck in LA traffic with a friend. We were stopped for a good 3-4 min. The car was in drive and i had my foot the whole time on the break, and my hands were no where near the wheel or near any buttons. My engine just turned off without warning. the power to the car was still there but i got a bunch of lights light up ( check engine and a few others). I put the gear in park, pressed the power button to turn it off and stepped on the break and pressed the button again to turn the car back on and the engine started again.

But it's crazy that the engine just turns off on it's own. I thought i must have hit something by accident, but reading this post freaks me out that it was the car. Going to call my dealer today.

I hope it's not some kind of a weird feature that "conserves gas" or whatever if you hold the break for a long time or something.
