  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi, I have a 2012 V6 Genesis. I notice that when I use the turn signals, it signals for a minimum of three blinks, even when I signal quickly and the stalk is back in the center position.

I find it a bit annoying because the signal light keeps going off even when I'm done changing lanes.

Has anyone else noticed this behavior? Can anyone with a 2012 signal for less than 3 blinks? I've never had a car that did this before the Genesis.

Thanks so much for all your help with my questions

It's called a "lane changing device". Every car that I've ever owned blinked three times. I think some very high end cars it can be adjusted but I'd bet not on the Genesis.

That is indeed very disturbing. I would suggest you have your car crushed and melted for scrap.

it a 'high end' feature.... Audi, Mercedes, BMW, lexus all do this. Its actually pretty convenient just a flick gives you three blinks.

I actually find the Genesis a little too easy to move the stalk to full on..then I have move it  all the way back down manually, exhausting :D

Its a feature not a bug. If you continue with pushing the stalk all the way up or down will turn the blinker completely on. :)

I think he is holding the stalk up...will blink three times more after he lets it go.

You dont have to hold that up any more.... you bought a luxury car ;) Just give it a little flick and you get three blinks for the lane change

That's right, it blinks three more times after the stalk is back into the off position, whether I signal with a short tap, or signal by fully engaging the blinker and turning back to the off.

So 6 total? Not the intended 3?

If i do a quick split second tap it is 3 blinks. If I fully engage the blinker them return the stalk to off, it blinks three more times after the stalk has been set to off.

get used to it, it is a higher end car! My Escalade ESV does the same thing. I like it :D

Sounds like it just might be a bit dangerous that you get out on the road at all... :)
