  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

(1) I noticed a while back there was a thread on dashboard creaking or the like. My Genesis just started this. 16K miles on it, and now at slow speeds accelerating or slowing down its an annoying creak. Is there a dealer fix for this? Anybody figure out what it is?

(2) Middle console rattle. Whenever I rest my arm on the middle console armrest it seems to be loose with far too much play in it, and it rattles a bit as well. Any fixes work for someone.

Thanks much folks! :)

Annoying issues? How about an annoying thread? Your car obviously doesn't like you and wants a new owner--

WOW, flyboy, kinda harsh aren't you? Thanks for my morning chuckle.

If you think there is an actual problem with your car, take it to the dealer and have them fix it.

My experience with other brand auto dealers is that they are loath to find and fix these "little problems." Perhaps your Hyundai dealer will be different.
Dash rattles have been reported by several owners on this forum. To my knowledge no one has reported a "fix". If there is a common cause and a fix please come forward now and tell us. A description of a fix will be very helpful in directing a dealer's warranty work.

The best fix sometimes is to take the dash apart and tighten every screw and bolt. Not easy or precise, but its known to work. The issue is, will a dealership do it, and do you want your entire dash apart?

Good point.
