  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This past weekend, I was up at Lake Tahoe with 140+ guys from our church for a Men's Retreat. We were staying in some nice 'cabins' at Incline Village— 6-7 guys per house. Upon arriving at my assigned cabin, I pulled up behind another Genesis, recognizing it as a Gen1 in silver. The owner—a silver-haired man of 72—came out of the home and we admired each other's vehicle. "I bought this new in 2013. Its the finest luxury car I've ever owned." The 2013 Gen 3.8 had a little over 45k miles and looked in near-new condition inside & out. He hadn't seen the Gen2 model and so we took turns sitting in each other's vehicle, noting the readily apparent differences—most notably the size disparity between the two models. "Your Genesis feels so much larger and heavier" he commented after taking it for a short drive through the Incline neighborhood, "but its really comfortable to drive." The 2ndGen certainly does feel more spacious, which after a 4-hour drive behind the wheel of one, made sitting in the smaller Gen1 seem a bit more confined. Not uncomfortably so,—just a slightly smaller interior than I've grown accustomed to.

Overall, it was an unexpected pleasure to drive another Genesis as they are quite rare.
The beauty of the Tahoe forest just made it all the more special!
