  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a G70 Elite which I have owned since late January 2021. The car has started making two sets of two "ding dong" sounds when I shut it off, which has never happened before. Any idea what this is? I don't see any warning lights when that happens.

Is your cellphone in the wireless charger? That will add a ding dong to remind you to remove it.

Thanks for the rapid response! It was not the phone, but a window. When I walked to the passenger side to get the manual out, I discovered the problem: the front passenger window was down less than an inch -- my passenger from last night must have accidentally touched the button when entering or exiting the car, but I could not see that the window was down from inside the car because it was just slightly open. When I fully closed the window, the warning tones disappeared. Thanks again, you guys are great.

If I have any windows and/or the sunroof open when I turn off the car, my multi information display shows a picture of the car and lights up in red what is open. Not sure if all trims do this but mine is a Sport.

My car is the Elite trim, and it definitely does that for doors, but it did not identify that the window was the problem. I very carefully looked at the display when I turned the car off. But it DID avert a disaster since my car is frequently parked outside during summer thunderstorms.

Only tangentially related, but the top GV70 model now has a sensor to sense if you leave your kids in your car. Pretty awesome considering between 20-50 children die after being left in hot cars every year.

FYI, this feature is also available in the 2.5 advance gv70. You dont need to top model.

I am so happy to hear this. This feature needs to be in all cars.

If you have a window down my car tells me which window by signaling the position in the center screen. Yours doesn't?

This should be an easy test. Leave a window half way open, shut off the engine, and open the door. This should result in an audible and visual warning the window is open. Our 2015 Genesis sedan does this so I would expect most or all newer models do the same.
