  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Are there any UK Gv70 owners on here? or pre orders

If so,
1. How has your genesis personal assistance experience been?

Which model have you ordered and any reviews?

Will help make decisions as I currently have a Skoda Kodiaq MY19 and looking into either X3 or gv70.

We are in the minority on this forum but not surprising as the UK GV70 launch was well behind the USA.

Firstly this forum is superb for getting information and has helped me enormously.

I ordered my GV70 through the London Studio in early September'21 It was shipped in December and arrived in the UK earlier this month. Delivery to me is arranged for early March so that it comes with a 22 plate.

Model ordered is GV70 2.2d Sportline with Innovation Pack and Comfort Seat Pack and I can't wait for it to be delivered.

Being one of the earliest adopters of the Genesis brand in the UK it was expected there would be some glitches and there were but these were dealt with swiftly and professionally by my assigned Genesis Personal Assistant (GPA).

In term of the GPA, can't speak too highly of this innovative approach to purchasing a premium vehicle. They (the GPA) go out of their way to make the whole process a pleasure. I've purchased vehicles from the usual suspects of the last 30 years and suffered their pre and post purchase attitudes and indifference, so the GV70 purchase has been a refreshing and welcome change.

All I can say is get in contact with the Genesis London Studio, you can't go wrong!!

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that. I have been in touch with them. Had a few questions which took them over a week to reply, that too after I mentioned it by booking the virtual tour.

No tow bar for now is a stumbling block for me too.

Did you test drive it? and how was it?

Test drives are only available for London at moment,

Yes, extensive test drive which really showed how impressive the GV70 is, although you need to remember test drive vehicles are all highest spec available. But a benefit of this is you can understand the option packs much easier than looking at the online information.

Tied in the test drive with a visit to family who live in the greater London area and Genesis brought the test vehicle to their property for the test drive. Again, nothing was too much trouble.

Good news test drives are now available near Leeds area.

Hi , I took delivery of my genesis gv70 in October , I did contact them online and it took them a week to reply but once I had my personal assistant and there number then they would get back to me same day , we did go to the studio and to be honest she didn’t know a lot about the cars but after delivery she actually left Genesis and now I got a message personal assistant but i haven’t had to contact him.

On delivery they explained nothing about the breakdown cover or servicing and gave me no phone numbers incase I breakdown , another thing is don’t ask them to prepare the vehicle , to the naked eye my car looked perfect , I actually know a bit about car detailing so I did order a high powered torch but it arrived after the delivery , a few days later I inspected the car once the torch arrived and there was swirl marks all over the car but not visible to the naked eye , there’s also a very minor defect in the paint on the bonnet and this is very hard to see and only visible with the torch, best to tell them to leave all the seals and wrappers on the car. This is not a problem with just genesis but all car manufacturers and most people won’t notice these things . Even cars that are still in the wrappers will have some minor defects in them but again will be very hard to see without the lighting . Cars that are white or silver will be even harder to find these defects so will depend on the colour of the car .
Apart from these things everything is good , the car is great and drives good even with 21” alloys on . Innovation pack is great

Hi everyone, I have been trying to look for a UK GV70 online forum and it seems this might be the only one available but that’s according to my research . Am happy to have come across this . Hopefully I shall learn a lot from here as it seems you guys are way ahead with your orders / or received the car already .
Am still waiting for mine to be shipped to the UK end of this month as updated by my GPA today then it will take them another 2 weeks or so for inspection and paperwork finalisation then delivery to me.
How was everyone experience from day one ?
My 1st GPA messed me up so I lost 3 months ( Sept - Dec). I heard he was fired So I had to restart again in December the whole process.
I can’t wait for the delivery .. am too excited 😊

Have just ordered this past weekend a GV70 Sports 2.5 petrol in the UK with every extra option including the tow bar but excluding the 21" wheels. Very excited but was told to expect 5 month delivery time so need to be patient and wait till September. I am replacing a BMW X3. So far my experience with Genesis has been great and hoping that continues. Before purchasing one, I did 2 test drives. One of those was at one of Genesis' popup events in Surrey near Dorking, and then a second test drive from home. During the second test drive, someone drove into the back of me whilst stationary at a roundabout! Fortunately no damage to the GV70 but a very worried look on the poor Genesis person who was sat in the back of the vehicle at the time! What has people's experience been like with delivery dates? Also, have people seen other Genesis cars out on the roads. I don't recall ever seeing one with the exception of the demo day.

Interesting to hear from owners across the pond. Can you tell us which model of the 2.5 you ordered and how much you ended up paying in the UK? I understand you have much higher tariffs than us in Canada and vehicles can be up to twice what they cost here.

I have ordered GENESIS GV70 2.5 l Turbo Petrol Engine / Sport / 19” Alloy Wheels Design B (Red Caliper Colour). I also have added Nappa Leather with Quilting - Obsidian Black, Wave Line Mood Lighting, Innovation Pack, Comfort Seat Pack, Lexicon Premium Audio System, Sunroof, 2nd Row Comfort Seat Pack, E-LSD,
Finger Print READER and tow bar.

Cost here in UK was around £58K for the fully loaded version I ordered. I chose not to go for the 21" wheels based on ride/noise quality on some of our poor road surfaces here.

I believe that in North America the versions of the GV70 are packaged differently as UK only get a choice of GV70 Premium, Luxury & Sport editions, and then you can add different optional extras depending on model chosen. The Luxury is the most expensive model and the Premium is the least expensive model. I preferred the shape of the steering wheel on the sports version and the rear exhausts.

The UK also only gets electric, 2.2L diesel and 2.5L petrol engine choices. No 3.5L petrol version available for us - very jealous that is available to North America and not us!

UK prices also include 20% sales tax (VAT), vs north american prices which don't include sales tax. So £58k is basically £48k not including tax.

Yes that is very true. The total £58K figure also includes some other UK specific taxes relating to car registration.

Thanks for the response. Very interesting. In Canada we can only select from 4 trim levels for the 2.5. I got the Advance+ (second from the top) and paid 59.5K+13% tax for total approx 67K C$. At today's exchange rate it's about 40K BP. Quite a bit less than what it cost in UK. The top of the line 2.5 was 63K or 71K CAD with tax. That's about 43K BP. Sounds like you got the top of the line version.

We can't cherry pick options like what you described, only color combos.

Enjoy the vehicle!
