  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have just had to replace a front ultrasonic parking sensor which was damaged but not only did I have to replace the sensor itself but the connector as well. I found both parts on Ebay but I still get an error message that the sensor isn't working. Looking at the wiring I can see that the 6 front parking sensors don't have individual connections but instead are all connected to the same LIN Bus line. My question is how does the vehicle know which sensor is which? I can see that the ultrasonic parking sensor connectors are different colours so do I need a specific connector for the sensor in that position or does the sensor need to be coded to the vehicle by the dealer?

You may need to have them calibrated at the dealer.

Hi, just wondering how easy was it to replace a sensor. My front passenger side sensor has been damaged (I suspect by stone damage) and they want $700 to do it. I want to do it myself and save the $500 labour's cost.
