  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Umbrella that actually fits in Umbrella holder?

So how pray tell do you access the trunk in an emergency which I assume is you lost your keys? Do you mind meld with your car? :D

If you would think about it for a few seconds, instead of posting snarky comments, the answer should be rather obvious.

Very simple -- I remove the metal "sidewinder" key from the fob and keep it elsewhere. That key opens the trunk.

Moral to the story - not everything runs on gadgets - metal keys still rule.

i never would have guessed that the clasp on the trunk lid triangle holder would hold the key fob securely!

But don't even think about using it for that purpose - a Fob/w. batt. would make your car pretty much open to the world. I.e., the trunk could be manually opened, and the doors might not be locked.

If you store a spare backup Fob in the trunk - remove the battery and/or wrap the Fob in foil and perhaps put in something like an Altoids can. That's what I do. And keep the metal "sidewinder" key to unlock the trunk, as necessary.
