  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The Scarlet Avenger had a rough day today.

I pulled into a parking lot that had a crown in the pavement and the bottom of the car scraped. Then I tried to back up and it scraped again.

Then my son opened the front door and scraped the lower corner of the door on the sidewalk, resulting in a little paint loss.

So when I got out and looked under the car, I had messed up one of the underbody panels. Part of it is now hanging down and dragging in low-clearance situations.

Dreading what I would find ($$$$), I looked for a price for the panel online when I got home. After spending a good 20 minutes looking, I had no luck finding the panel on an OEM Hyundai parts site.

Anybody else have to replace a splash panel?

Or know what the part number is?

(I did search, but came up empty, perhaps because I don't know the exact name for those panels)

Stop by your dealer's parts counter and look up the part from their schematic of the underbody of the car. It will show part numbers and then they can give you prices too.

Thank you for the information Chris41. Waz, I had the same problem in my search for the correct name or part to search for regarding the underbody. Nice to know we have a community here.

These panels are referred to in my pdf shop manual as "front under cover" and "rear under cover", respectively.

Google those terms with your make & model & you will find what your're looking for.

Thaks all. The stealer wants $188 for the LH rear cover! plus installation! Dayam, I hate it when I do stupid crap.

Dealer's double the parts price (at least) - check ebay as one alternative.

And, it's called either a "front under cover" or a "rear under cover"!

Contact Dan at KDMmotors. May be able to get a cheaper price. I have two e-bay contact who have been able to consistently get me cheaper prices on items.

Do you happen to still have the contacts from your ebay? I dont know which undercover part I need (front or rear) but the one underneath the passenger side is torn and hanging now and I am looking to get it replaced. dealership told me the front and rear are total of 800$ (400$ each).
