  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2012 genesis 3.8 that has issue of stalling (at least I assume its stalling). The car has been sitting for about 5 months and I don't have much information as to what symptoms it was experiencing prior to it's sedentary state. What I know now is that I can start it when it is jumped, it will drive fine for a second and then everything will shut off. I checked the DTC and I have a bunch of codes related to the transmission. Electricals are a bit out of my wheelhouse so hopefully someone on here can help me decipher what it is I am looking at.

Alternator/Battery system. Seems like alternator is not charging your battery, or your battery isn't accepting the charge.

If it was fine before sitting, I would start with the battery connections. Also take the battery to Autozone (not sure where you are ) and have the battery tested. If it is good but low on power, have them charge it for you. When you put it back in the car be sure to check the cables and connectors and tighten them good. If the car runs, I would take it and have the alternator checked to ensure it is working.
