Hi. Went out to crank the car this morning and it was completely dead electrically. I was in a hurry, so I jumped in another car and headed out. A couple of hours later I returned and put a multimeter on the battery and it read fine. I checked the battery fuses and they were fine. I checked the amperage at the charging posts under the hood and the power level was perfect. I then checked the main connections on each fuse box and they all read full power. I pulled an untold number of fuses and they were all good. While sitting in the driver seat scratching my head about what to try next, I stuck the FOB in the key holder. The driver door was open. There was an almost imperceptible intermittent squeak! It was the key alarm but it was very, very weak and cutting in and out.
I bought this car from a friend a few months ago. Nothing like this has happened since I've owned it. It was operating fine through yesterday when I hand washed it and moved it from one spot to another in the drive. At this point, I am guessing that water from the wash got sprayed into somewhere it did not belong and that after a day or two of drying, it is going to magically work like it had been. Please share your thoughts if you have an idea of what is happening. I'd be very interested in reading them!
