  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Heres a question for everyone with a 2012 or near..I have a 2021 Kia Telluride that updated my navigation 2 months ago..Today , from Kia I received a free Navigation stick to update my Telluride (already updated) sooo, do you think I can use the 2023 stick to update my 2012 genesis navigation by inserting it into the USB port where its suppose to go? Or would you not chance it?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
While I've seen a few one in a million miracles in my days, I would surmise that this has a 99.9999% chance of failure with a small probability of damage to the stick and/or car. Worst case you brick both the stick and car.

Is your 2012 a Premium or Tech car? Premium are much easier and cheaper to update, and can easily DIY.
2012 Tech is possible, but it's $500+ labor time and 4 hours of engine idle at the dealer (i.e. half-tank of your gas) and that's if they can even still get the CD Roms. If they do it wrong, they brick the head unit (a $3000+ R&R job). You'll know if the service writer has experienced a bricked one, because their eyes will go wide because the dealer owners will tend to yank the cost out of the staff bonus pay. Otherwise when they realize what it takes and see the bricked car warning in the service data, they will probably try to talk you out of it.

I use Waze. It's free.

Don’t even think about it!

I own a Premium trim ‘12 Genesis. As far as I recall it’s a DVD based update. Last time I checked it wasn’t even available anymore.

The MapNSoft website is the place to go for info.

As Gunk suggests, just use your smartphone for navigation. I love Waze too via CarPlay in my newer vehicles.

Thanks guys..i wasnt too sure about it myself....dont want to fry my navigation system....thks
