  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Never heard of anyone changing versions of software. How did that work out?

It worked actually, the problem was that the usb drive i was using was a 16 gb so when i used a bigger usb drive the problem got solved and now i have ME version on my car but the navigation system is not working any more it keeps saying "searching for signal"

GPS is pretty universal worldwide, so that's strange. A hardware difference, perhaps? It's possible the modems could be different and the GPS is likely part of the modem.

I heard someone saying that i need to enter engineering and do a gps reset, i didn't actually get it i didn't do it before...
And another thing i thought that by installing the ME version i would be able to change the language to arabic but didn't found any new languages, just english and korean.
So will the engineering mode help me with that?
The update was about 13 gb, is it just a navigation update?!!.....
Or it has something else in it, maybe a languages packs or something..
And if entering engineering mode is safe, how to do it?

Unfortunately, I don't know the answers to those questions. I wish there were a factory service manual for these cars.

My guess is it might just mostly be a map update. These infotainment systems run Linux, and if they're similar to Android, the updates might only contain updates for certain modules or partitions. For example, bootloader, system (OS), application, maps, modem, etc. are all different modules and an update might update some or just one, but not all. That would be my guess that whatever changes the language would probably be the "system" partition and that probably wasn't in the latest update because it hasn't changed for awhile.

Yes, it can be done. I did it on my previous G80 (I uploaded the Europe update and the car was from the US) but the key is to change the region in dealer mode (engineer mod) before uploading the update. I found here how to enter this mode and number combinations. Once entered, everything is clear and it is done with a few clicks.
Unfortunately, I can't find anywhere how to enter this mode in the G90

same issue here, Cannot find pin code to enter engineering mode g90 2016-2019 Korean
