  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

i just updated to an iphone 15, and apple has gone away from the fire cables and now just uses a usb c as the connection at the bottom of the phone.. however, when you plug a usbA cable into the car and the USB C into the phone, the car doesnt recognize the phone! i was told by support that it should work if i did the october Nav update, so i spent 5 hours workign through the poor documentation to get that done, and my new iphone still isnt recognized by the car.. i cant be the only one that upgraded to a 15?

My wife has the 15 Pro; tomorrow I will see if it will work with wired CP.

If you can’t get wired CP to work, you could always buy a wired-to-wireless CP adapter.

I have the iPhone 15 pro max..... I use wired connection (usb-a to usb-c). Have not had any issues with CarPlay connection/functionality/features. Have you tried with a different cable?

take a look at this also....

Reboot your phone. Turn it fully off. Then turn it on again after 60 seconds.

Thanks all... i had a usba to usbc cable converter, but it was likely just for charging.. seems certain cables can do certain things but have to make sure cable is good for carplay.. i ended up getting a usbc to usba converter(3 for 7.99!) that was carplay certified, and it works!

Glad I saw this thread, but a little too late. Ordered USB-A to USB-C cables for the car, and also straight and 90-degree adapters, so hope they work. Just got the phone today, and finished setting it up, along with the Airpod Pro 2s (amazing little suckers. Ha ha). Will have to pair everything again, and also bought one for my wife, so we'll see if it works. We don't use CP normally, but would like it to work if I need it, so will test it out, to make sure the cables I got for the car work. Oh, and will also update the software before pairing anything, since I think a new version just came out for my '23.
