Received a psot card from Hyundai today - Urgent Recall Notice

Modification T 79

Anyone else get one?
Anyone know what its about?

I just made a call tomy service manager ( yes i have his blackberry #) & he doesnt know anything about this or has he heard anything about this for the genesis, what exactly does that post card say & who is it from

Strange that nobody else got one.

Nothing from the NHTSA site on this either. No recalls at all. Just the TSB's that I am sure we all are aware of.

If they give you a number to call, it is usually someone selling an extended warranty or something.

I had not read the post card before posting last night. My wife had called me at work to tell me about it. When I got home, the post card was not from Hyundai, but from my hyundai dealer. It stated: "Urgent Recall Notice, Your 2009 Hyundai is in need of a correction to insure safe Operation, You've been notified by your vehicles division of the existing problem, but you have not taken steps with us to have the corrections made. We urge you to call for an appointment as soon as possible. This is extremely important.

Then it had the vehicle make, Vin #, and said to refer to Modification T-79.

I could not reach the service department last night. I will try again today, but they may not re-open until Monday. I'll keep you posted.

By the way, I had never been previously notified by my vehicles division of any recall or problems that needed attention.

I have had the car since 12/30/08 and have not had it back to the dealer since.

Just got off the Phone with the service department and they said it was an air bag update.

This has to be the airbag issue related to cars manufactured before 12/08 that the IIHS found.

What is the date of manufacture for your Genesis? It is listed on a sticker in the drivers door jam.

Is it possible the dealership(s) took car of this issue with the vehicles they had on their lots, prior to selling to us? And if that is the case, maybe this one was missed. Thus the "urgent" notification.

from what im hearing now from my service tech manager where i brought my car ( he called me this morning) is that there is a issuse with the FRONT AIR BAG (recall) T79, so everyone check with your dealer & find out !!!

I had my 7500 mile oil change at the dealer last week and they also did the update for the air bag at that time.
