US Rated Fuel Economy vs the Stinger (1MPG Less?)

I find it interesting that the us EPA MPG ratings for the G70 are 1 less combined than they are for the Stinger.

AWD Stinger: Fuel Economy of 2019 Kia Stinger AWD

AWD G70: Fuel Economy of 2019 Genesis G70 AWD

Both for 2019.

Has there been anything mentioned as to why this might be? Same powertrain, but different transmission tuning? I would think with the G70 being smaller and lighter, it would get the better fuel economy.

Yes it does and the G70 does not. So that might be it. Huge plus though that we don't have it IMO even if it hurts mileage. The start/stop in the Kia was one of the worst I have tried.

Can't explain the 2.0T difference as it is on the highway rating. Maybe the Stinger is more aerodynamic? (although I thought it was the other way around...)

The 2.0L has auto start/stop. Didn't seem to help.

Everybody that I know that has the start/stop 'feature' turns it off every time they get into their car. Maybe different on something like a Prius or other hybrid ...

All I know is that the G70's transmission is geared super short for more smiles per gallon!
