  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a new 2015 Genesis and I am using a USB thumb drive to listen to music via the USB Media interface. This might be a stupid question, but when I choose to listed to an Album the music appears to come up in the list and play in alphabetical order by song title. I really would like to listen to the music in track number order instead of alphabetical order. Does anyone know how to do this?

I am coming from a 2013 Sonata that had the USB feature and it played the songs in the desired track number order, so it seems that this should be possible.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Rename the tracks with the track order in front of the name

1 - xxx
2 - xxx
3 - xxx
......

The track files (in the folders) are already names with the track number in front of them (i.e. "01-xxx.mp3", "02-xxx.mp3", etc.). The system seems to be going off of the Title that it fetches from the MP3 data and not the filename of the track in the folder.

I could be wrong, but when I was reading the manual I think I saw something about being able to sort by alpha or numerical, but it was a setting. it might have been something with the jukebox....idk. don't quote me on this, but I thought I read that somewhere. I have the ultimate btw.

That would be ideal, but I have not managed to find it yet.

I erase every mp3 of their background info(not sure what they're called) before putting them on my USB stick. All my songs play in file name alpha/number order.

I think I may have figured out a potential solution. When selecting a file using the "List" option, the first sub-option is something like "File". That allows me to select in the order that they are set up in the folder/filename structure. I am able to select a artist and then album and the file order (which is numerical track listing order) and play them in the desired album numerical track order without issue. The system just seems to default to alphabetical order if I select the "Artist", "Album" or other "List" method. I can probably live with that if there is no other official option to change this.
