  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,

Is there anybody who tried to connect your Smartphone(Blackberry, Blackjack, Google phone, etc) into USB port in Genesis to play MP3 music?
Today I tried to connect my Smartphone(Samsung Blackjack) with memory card into USB port.
Genesis indeed detected Smartphone as one of USB device but it didn't recognized it as a valid one. Normal USB flash drive works well by the way.

Anyone who succeeded it, please let me know.

For the smartphone to work, it must be in mass storage mode... try the blackberry, but make sure you turn mass storage mode on... that may work, I will ahve to try my BB, but I have an HTC Touch Pro, and when I enable mass storage mode, it works like a charm

Why do they have both a USB and phone jack for their stereo inputs if they don't work with a phone? My 2.0 won't play anything off the phone.

Very disappointed in Hyundai.

you can put music on a usb stick (mp3 or .wav) and it will play it if you change the audio to USB.

or you can use the audio jack with a cord and connect it to your headphone jack on your phone.

lastly you can go on amazon and find a bluetooth receiver and it can play your music wirelessly from your phone

Deejank. So what you are saying is if I buy a portable bluetooth transmitter (even though my car has bluetooth) I can connect my phone by bluetooth to the protable transmitter/receiver and by plugging into my aux jack I can listen to music on my phone that way.

Have you tried streaming music. So for instance Spotify or Rdio where you have your playlist downloaded to your phone (not using wifi) and then play from that.

Absolutely. Your phone can make more than one bluetooth connection at the same time. Use the built-in bluetooth for voice calls, and an add-on blue-tooth receiver to stream audio, like slacker, into your aux input in your stereo. Here's what I got to do this:
