  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just purchased 2010 Titanium V6 with Premium Nav and am having trouble getting the usb stick to be recognized. I have read everything I can find in manual and on web and am still stumped. I am using a SanDisk 8G(formatted 32FAT) Cruzer stick and am loading mp3 files from a Mac with 10.6.2(Snow Leopard). The files have always been mp3 and are not in Itunes. I have experimented with removing all extraneous files from the disk except the music file and the system file but when I put it in the usb slot after starting the car it attempts to read it for about 15 seconds and then states "no media connected".....then waits about 5 seconds and I get the "loading" message again for about 15 seconds and repeat. I am only trying to read about 4 albums so not a lot of data.

Thoughts anyone??

I have no trouble playing music from my Ipod or Iphone 3G.

hmmm... that setup should be working for you. I would take it to the dealer and have them try it out for themselves.

One thing that might be worth your while is to find one other compatible USB drive that works, load a few .mp3 and/or .wma files on it, and try it as well. It could be a strange/rare incompatibility with the SanDisk Cruzer. If you run into the same problem again with a completely different USB drive, then you'll know it's almost certainly the fault of the Genesis' DIS hardware somehow. If that's the case, then you'll also be more confident about your diagnosis when you walk into the dealership and tell them about the issue.

Went to the dealership this morning with 8 GB Sandisk Cruzer usb stick and found out that the Sonata, Azera, and the 17 speaker Lexicon system will play the media stick but the 14 speaker system in the Genesis will not. Went to Target and bought 16GB Lexar usb stick and went home, put same music on it and with no other changes it works like a charm. Makes no real sense but that is the gist of it.

Thanks for letting us know about that little hiccup on Hyundais end.

It is a bit unusual, but the manual clearly states that not all usb sticks will work in the vehicle.
