USB thumb drive with osx..

Has anyone found a way to get a thumb drive to read via the usb port in gen/coupe.
I've Re-formated into fat32 / Removed all nested folders / songs are all mp3...
I've also read about removing the U3 software but there's non available for osx??
How about which Brand/size Thumb seems to work best.

I just used a different thumb drive brand.
I WAS using a Micro Center USB Thumb 8gb (not sure of the real brand)
So purchased a NEW thumb (Lexar 4gb) and so far it worked.
No formatting needed Although it came as Fat32. I just added my mp3's.
