  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

OK, my XM radio subscription is coming due this summer.... I only use about 3 channels or so and I can easily get these on my phone. I have an unlimited data plan, so I am thinking of just running my phone through my Genesis.

I am pretty sure that this can be accomplished in several ways, but I am looking for the best Audio Quality Option. So for anyone that has done this can you tell me how you accomplished the Phone Audio to Genesis Stereo System? Do you use the Aux Port or Bluetooth or ???

Thanks Much!

Bluetooth. I use it all the time and works great. Best sound I think through that

Which phone? What music source on the phone?(app). Might not matter as a lot of streaming apps don't provide a 5.1 stream but would help to know.

I am only interested in Stereo..... A couple different phones Android and Iphone..... Many Different Apps.... Spotify, Tune In Radio etc. etc.

Bluetooth uses compression so loss of quality is a promise. USB sends the raw signal to the car head unit which also allows the better Dac in the car to process the signal. So USB is better. But. If you are just using free pandora it won't matter.

Yeah I don't use Pandora...... But, of course real Quality Audio in a Car is kind of an Oxymoron..... I've got a Horn Speaker system and SET Amps in my Basement that I use Lossless FLAC audio with, so I am definitely familiar with Compression.

For streaming apps BT should be good enough.

T-Mobile also allows unlimited streaming of certain Apps without incurring data charges. In other words, you do not need to purchase an unlimited data plan. Here are the apps that apply to this service:

So, you can probably find enough stations to keep you happy and, therefore, drop Sirius/XM completely.

How about this deal - Mobile hot spot with unlimited data and no throttling. http://www.4gcommunity.org/community-store/12-month-service-bundle-with-mobile-hotspot

$21 a month for the first year and $14 a month thereafter and you can stream anything you want as much as you want ! And yes I will drop XM Completely. That is the goal.
