  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,

I am in Canada and an trying to decide between a cpo (50K km) vs non-cpo (58K km) used genesis. Both are being sold by a Hyundai dealer.

The non-CPO: Close to my place (vancouver).

The CPO: On east coast ( canada). It gets me a 1 year/20,000km powertrain warranty and a 120 point inspection (but with a $100 deductible). Same price as non-cpo but will have to pay $2K for transportation.

I was hoping that a CPO would get me comprehensive warranty including electronics but that is not the case.

Please advise.

Thanks

Have you asked what the cost for the CPO Wrap warranty extension is on the CPO vehicle? I wonder if that is handled different in Canada. I would ask very pointed and specific questions about why the non-CPO is being sold that way. Usually if it is at a Hyundai dealer and is not being sold as CPO there is a reason. Either something that would cost too much to pass the inspection, Lemon buy back, etc etc.

It is not called wrap warranty in Canada. Just extended warranty. I am getting a 4 year / 60000 km comprehensive warranty from Hyundai for CAD$ 3500 (incl taxes). I can buy this for the CPO car as well as the non CPO car.

Should I buy the extended warranty from a local dealer OR from the dealer selling the car?
