Hi, I have been lurking on these forums for about a year, and everyone helped convince me that a 4.6L with Tech would be the car for me!

Now that I have that figured out, I need to determine how to get the best possible price. However, most of the price discussion I have seen was related to the price of new vehicles. I am looking at gennys with aprox 20k-30k miles, so what should I be looking to pay?

This caught my eye, but the dealer said he wants $30,000. I was thinking about 25k, am I crazy, or will I be able to get that if I keep looking? I am willing to wait as long as necessary, but I am not sure if I would recognize a great deal if I saw one.

I'm in Mpls, MN and there are a number of 4.6/tech that are in the 24-28 range. some are high 20k miles to 40ish?

THere is a beige one right now with 40k on it that I just saw price drop to 23900. But I just can't pull the trigger on that color.

On the higher mileage side there is a very clean 09 4.6w/tech with 76k on it for 20k but I have not found many high mileage examples for sale yet.

Glad to hear we are on the same page. No way I would pull the trigger on a beige one either. I am trying for black on black if I can. Seems like less than 25K is a real possibility.

Are you guys looking at '09s? Seems like a lot more selection in that year. My understanding is that they are not hugely different than the 2010's.

I was a customer of Josh at Morries 394 Hyundai. Good guy to work with and good dealer to work with. He might be able to find you something.

Different regions of the country will have different pricing, but I bought essentially the same car but a 2010 with 22K miles in January for $27K from a dealer in CT. Keep looking and you'll find the right deal for yourself.

the right deal will come along, your criteria isn't that wild.

I bought mine last year
it is a 2010 4.6 with Tech pkg, had only 10000kms (6k miles)
and i got it for a bit over 28k plus tax
and considering that i'm in Canada, where these cars were just over 50k brand new, i'd say i got a good deal.
dealer had it on their lot for 40k, sat there for 3 months, they dropped the price down to like 32k and still no buyers, so it was easier to take advantage of the situation at that point

Well I picked up black 4.6 w/ Tech (29K Miles) from a dealer in Milwaukee (I live near chicago) for 23,900 (2.29 APR). Was a tad more than I thought I could get it for, but the gentleman who came in to look at it while I was negotiating certainly didn't help my position! LOL.

I still feel pretty good about my purchase though, especially with the 100K PT warranty that comes with the Hyundai CPO. Plus the car had already had the tires replaced! I definitely love the car so far, although I do need to get used to the suspension.

Congrats. Did you get the 2009?

Yeah I got the 09, I can't believe I forgot to mention that lol. On related note, does anyone know the exact cutoff date for the 09 suspension changes? This one has a build date of mar 20 2009.

I was able to find these links that say "early April" but I am sure the specific answer is somewhere buried in the history of this forum.

In addition to the mid-year 2009 suspension changes, there were also additional changes for 2010 MY. Some people have installed just the 2012 rear stabalizer bar (about $150) on previous model years with great success.

Really? That sounds like an interesting change. What does putting the 2012 one on do? I did a lot of reading on here, but hadn't seen that mod.

I would look for a build date after 2/10/10 in order to get 385 hp. Also I think the seat cooling feature is worth the search. I don't care for the DIS right in front of the cup holder ie fluids vs electronics????. touch screen is very intuitive. I would also stay away from adaptive cruise control. I'm not sure you can turn it off completely.;)

Found this one at $26,990 and I would imagine you can get them to move on that price: Black & Tan with Tech...And it's a certified pre-owned so you would get the remainder of the 100k warranty:

And this one for $24,643 also Black / Tan with Tech Certified Pre-Owned:

Just purchased 2011 4.6 (comes with Tech package) 22K miles for $28,5k from a Hyundai dealer.
Could have negotiated a little better :(
It was registered as rental vehicle.
