  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm getting a GV70 next month and was wondering how people get along with using the scroll wheel to get around Android Auto. On my current VW GTI, I can use the tuning knob to get around the interface, but It seems to get stuck within an app with no way to back out to the bottom nav bar without actually touching the screen. Does it work better on Genesis?

In AA it works just fine, works but it isn't completely smooth. The thing about the scroll wheel is it also moves like a joystick on a controller so if you're trying to do something and it seem to stuck somewhere, a flick gets things moving. As convenient as it is to have the wheel you'll probably want to use the touch screen as we're so use to that. The wheel is very convenient especially when driving.
On the other hand, in the native Genesis menu it is a bit smoother and easier to use.

Ok. The car is actually for my mom who is a bit short and may have a bit of an issue reaching the screen while on the move. Good to know that it can work, even if there may be a learning curve

You use the joystick function to move around the sections of the interface and then turn it to move around the various inputs inside each section.

There is a back and home button above it to return back to home for the whole interface or back to the primary AA screen.

I use the wheel when driving but normally the touch screen when stopped because it's just quicker. The scroll wheel is better when driving because I don't have to stare at the touch screen and make sure I hit the right input.

The only annoying thing I run into is that sometimes I can't get to the far right section to change it and sometimes I can. I can't figure out why it works part time.

Ok. Seems I can "make it work" and use the touch screen if all else fails. Hopefully the re-design Google is supposed roll out this summer works better
