  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Why do I need the fingerprint reader when I can use my phone to unlock and start the car instead?

What if you break or lose your phone? Dead phone battery?

I have the Genesis NFC card in my wallet that lets me unlock and start the car.
They design cars for thousands of different buyers with different wants and needs, Many will prefer a fingerprint reader and not carry a phone or card

phone will work even if battery is dead at least for GV80 2025
If I don't have my phone I always have my apple watch on. Why even bother with flaky fingerprint. I dont carry keys, never need to in 12 months.

My previous car had a code pad on the door to unlock the door with. When we would go to the beach, we would lock everything inside the car, including the car keys, then enter our code to get back in. There are bound to be some other use cases like this for the fingerprint reader. (I still miss the code pad.)
