  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone hard wired a Valentine One Radar Detector into their Coupe?

I am thinking about connecting it to the accessory jack in the center console and was wondering if anyone has taken the center stack apart. It looks like it would be a pretty simple install, but I do not want to start popping off interior parts if someone had experience with it.

I'd go right to ignition 1, and ground out ur negative. Smartest way to hardwire any aftermarket accessory into ur electrical system. If your skeptical put a 15amp fuse inline.

Okay, I figured it out. I popped off the bezel on the center stack. I connected the power lead to the power that goes to the accessory jack in the center. I dropped down the glove box to get behind it and connected the ground lead to one of the bolts that hold the glove box in. My Valentine is mounted just to the right of the rear view mirror, same place I had it in my Jag. I tucked the phone wire lead between the windshield and the headliner and then ran it down the A piller to the passenger side of the dash. I tucked the line in the dash via the side plate on the end of the dash. Everything was joined behind the glove box. Very difficult for anyone to see when outside of the car, and it has a clear view in front and to the rear of my coupe.
