  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I ran some searches and nothing came up. If this is an obvious question, please be gentle, I'm new here.

Years ago I had a Ford Focus SVT and a popular after-market item was a device that plugged into the diagnostic port which allowed you to put temporary over-rides into the CPU -- the most popular of which was engaging a mode such that the car wouldn't go faster than 20 miles an hour. This was of value if you were valeting the car and didn't want strangers joy-riding in your performance car.

I just purchased a 2.0T R Spec and would very much like this kind of security for the car as Houston has required valet in many locations around the city. Is anyone aware of a device like this which is available for this car -- or another way to achieve the same thing?
