  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

And they are not honoring their offer and want to renegoiate... I walked.
And the dealership is called Denn!s Hyundai at Easton, Columbus Ohio.

One more question, if anyone lived in Ohio... if I trade in my vehicle for a new lease, do I get the sales tax allowance like I do if I purchase a new car?

I just hung up with a friend and he said, some dealers do that, they give you a price you cannot passed and once they hooked u up, they drain your blood becaz you have attachment with the new car and you don't want to seperate from it. Well, I am really miss the car but I don't feel like to live like a sucker either.. I will wait again.. Sh_t.

Anytime someone offers you a deal that is below their cost (including holdbacks, etc), then you should be suspicious. Also, in the USA, a contract is not binding unless it is in writing if the amount is over $500.

This should be expected now. Even with the effects on car sales with the slow economy. The dealers now have another "anti-bargaining" tool in their favor which they will certainly recite during every deal. That COTY tag recently awarded to the Genesis is music to the dealers ears when it comes to price negotiations.

I agreed... I am no economist but I think the world econ will get worst before it gets better.... I will wait.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Wheb I bought mine a few days ago, I was first quoted $2100. under MSRP. Once in showroom and they evaluated my trade, the offered me $2000. less than KBB trade in value. ("KBB does not pay us"). (This equals selling the Genesis at MSRP and giving me trade in value on my trade). Well we went back and forth with the "manager" and the best I could do was to get them go give me $1000 more than they first offered me. So,,,,,,, I ended up paying $1000 more than I thought I should. ($2100 under MSRP but $1000 less than KBB trade in value for my trade).

Not complaining.

Bought the 3.8 for $2500 under MSRP, then moved up to the 4.6 which was $1K under MSRP and I had to fight for the $1K!

If I had a deal $2K under invoice I would be at the dealer and sign immediately. That said I got the v8 for $36.5K.

i had a carmax in my market and i normally will use their tradein value as a benchmark...
Well, I can get from internet sales team for invoice price everywhere here in Columbus. I heard there is 1000.0 lease money where I am pretty much I can get too...

Through Costco Auto I just got the following quote in my inbox for a base V8:

38000 MSRP
34571 Net Sale Price

Mind to share the pricing for a V6 Tech and a V8 Tech?

Man that sounds so familar! My negotiations last month went almost exactly like that!

Keep in mind that the "invoice" is the price the dealer would pay if he was only getting one car. The dealer is actually paying far less than invoice. How far depends on the volume, floor planning argreements, bounses, volume discounts, etc.

wrong!!^^^

Here is what I actually was asking for when they sent the V8 quote ... does this look good? Seems like people here have done better:

A 2009 Hyundai Genesis V8 Sedan with the Technology Package.

42000 MSRP
39211 Net Sale Price

27 month lease 559 plus tax. Requires 2599 drive-offs, which includes your first monthly payment. Residual is 56% and money factor is .00001.

Almost identical to mine for same package. I say whatever makes you happy is a good deal. You are NOT being ripped off.

UPDATED INFO -- please read

Well, to my fellow forum members, I felt I need to get this corrected. ;)

1. Looks like they didn't offer such good deal to anyone and I am the one who is being lucky... the reason I said that becaz, they quickly figured it out I am the person also called MiuSiu in this group. So, looks like some dealers and maybe Hyundai will collect info from this forum. It is not new to me as this is happening to a lot of sites like Audiworld and Bimmerfest...

2. The owner of Hyundai called me this morning to explain the situation to me. Looks like there is a mis-understanding between his sale person and his sales manager about my trade in situation and his sales manager called me to appologize.

3. Based on the conversations I had with the owner of this dealership (yes, he has the same last name of this dealership). He is willing to sell me the car with the original terms and pass the savings to me.

Well, I think he is a true gentleman to handle his business and customers with respect. I am not sure if I can go ahead becaz it is really late for me now as I will be taking off to Asia for 2 weeks but this Sunday... who knows what will gonna happen after that... but I will keep you guys posted.
