  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My 2016 Genesis has started to vibrate when I brake. I need help because I’m afraid to go to a shop and they charge me for stuff that my car doesn’t need.

You probably have warped rotors or pad build up material on them creating a shutter affect when braking. I’d find a trusted brake shop to look at the issue for you. New pads and maybe a light rotor turn will usually fix the issue. Sometimes new rotors are not much more cost than just a turn job alone.

Thank you.

Exactly. Tends to be front brakes mostly. I had a neighbor that would do that with any car she drove for a few days due to her braking habits. Don't overheat the brakes. Warping can also happen if the lug nuts are not properly tightened when a wheel is put on.

Last time I had brakes done the local trusted shop was $100 less than the dealer.

Probably is rotors, but them good front rotors on the car are expensive. At least for the 5.0

Turning should be much cheaper if a viable path.
