  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Dealer will be replacing differential for what I thought was a tire balance issue. Under warranty so I'll see what happens. Anyone else experience this?

2015 5.0 does it at 60-80 mph. Good to know, I'll check with dealer next visit.

Mine vibrates too let me know if it works out

So, dealer replaced rear differential last week. No improvement! Today I noticed "clunking" between shift points at lower speeds, less than 30 mph.

I'm thinking this is a driveshaft issue. I emailed the dealer tonight requesting immediate help with this. I'll keep the group posted.

Our 2015 3.8 RWD CPO came with brand new Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires which so far are flawless with no shake or vibration at all, very smooth at 33 psi. I hope the Pirellis last, but if not Michelin Pilots are my choice for the next rubber.

The car is so solid and quiet it's scary, but it whines/whistles when lightly accelerating between 40-80 coast. Sounds like a differential or tranny and the pitch increases with light throttle, then stops completely with medium to hard throttle. I can reproduce it at will and am considering recording it for my dealer, but is it fixable? Otherwise the car is awesome!!

Could be your driveshaft if it is a whinny sound!

Problem finally resolved!

Work done since December 2018: Replace rear differential, true rear rims (out of round?), wheels balanced and 4 wheel alignment.

About 3 months and 2.5 weeks in shop but fixed!

Running smooth and true up to 100 mph.

Thanks to All

My whine at light acceleration was just confirmed as the rear differential. Part on order.

Seem like a few of the rear differentials are going out going by this thread.

I changed my rear differential oil at about 60k miles and it was not in good condition; the gear oil was burnt. I replaced my factory-filled gear oil with full synthetic Royal Purple 75w-90 gear oil with friction modifiers and so far so good. I am not sure what brand of gear oil Hyundai uses at the factory, but it does not seem to be a type of gear oil for long term use.

During my next oil change I will inspect and torque down my drive shaft bolts.

Not sure if warranty covered the rim repair or whether the dealer absorbed the cost.
I was not charged.

Differential replaced under warranty. Whistle gone. No vibrations so far and rides like a sporty limo.
