If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just purchased a 5.0 ultimate with the new Continentals already installed. I did not notice the vibration during the test drive but it is driving me crazy now. The vibration is worse while the tires are cold but it never goes away. It can be felt at all highway speeds. My rear view mirror vibrates so bad the image is distorted. I took my car to a tire store and found the tires to be out of balance but that did not fix the problem. I will take the vehicle back to the dealer at some point(100 miles+). I know some of you are having trouble with the new Michelin's and was wondering if anyone else is having issues with the Continentals.

I'm puzzled myself with how a car company can build a wonderful car but fall flat with tires. I have Michelins but have the same bumpy, jittery ride even after warm up. The car feels so unsettled. I'm convinced now that its not the tires and that its the sub frame of the vehicle or something related to the sub frame. I'm leasing so not sweating it much anymore but I'd be more than miffed if I bought this car and had this experience. Hopefully they will find your problem and fix it. Other than this issue the car is fantastic.

My 2015 3.8L awd has no vibration problems with Hankooks.... I wonder if the problems are caused by out of balance drive shafts ???? All these tires can't be bad... even Tire rack reviews don't show these tires with vibration problems...................

I have a base 2015; came with the continentals. So far, 2000 miles over 2 months, i have not had this issue. Zeke, what does your local Service Center say? Also, post it on social media to get HMA attention

My Take on the Michelins

I’ve had the Michelins on my car for about 2 months now and have absolutely no problems with them. This is “my” assessment of the original tires and the new ones. The Hankooks were a little softer riding and handled better on dry ground. The Michelins are definitely better on wet ground and just as quiet. From my prior experience with these same tires on my Infiniti G5X (an AWD) I know them to be an above average snow tire. I can tell you that the Hankooks were not that good in snow because I had them on during the snow months. So where does that leave us….the Hankooks have excellent performance on dry ground and a good ride but fall short in rain or snow.

My local dealer is saying that they have not yet replaced tires on a 5.0 only the Michelin tires on the 3.8. They have had customers that complained about the vibration with the new Michelin's. I'm going back to the dealership where I purchased the vehicle in a couple of weeks to get their opinion and to get the issue documented.

About six weeks ago my wife and I took our first, and only test drive so far, of a 3.8 2015 Genesis. At the end of the drive I said to my wife and to the sales rep that I felt a vibration in the seat of my pants during the drive. The salesman seemed surprised, but my wife agreed; she felt it too. Later, while reading threads and posts here, I discovered this to be a fairly common problem. Most though reported that after the tires warmed up for about five minutes the vibration abated. Well, our drive lasted about 20 minutes on a very warm Florida day, and the problem persisted throughout the drive. It was especially noticeable on smooth interstate surfaces.

I told the sales guy that before we ever signed to close a deal that I would have to be sure that the car we buy exhibits none of this. The lease on our current car isn't up until next March and I'm hoping this problem is fixed for MY 2016.

Did you notice if the test car had Hankook or Michelin tires fitted?

I still have the Hankooks and 3 months/8500 miles I have noticed no vibration at any speed. The only vibration at all that I feel is a very slight amount in the steering wheel at idle. I think I will keep these tires for a year or so.

In my experience, an OOB drive shaft will usually only exhibit vibration at a certain speed range. I had one situation where the driveshaft was ok below 45 and above 55 but would play hell between those speeds.

I think Hyundai either doesn't know what the problem is or the fix is so expensive that they're dancing around it trying to moderate the symptom just enough to encourage fed up owners to give up.

I just got my car back after much too long and the problem is worse. This is going from a great ownership experience to a trip through hell.
